Hello,
I'm so useless at updating this...
London has been good to me (mostly) lately. The summer was going great for the first 3-4 weeks, then it started raining every single day. Raewyn stayed for 2 weeks and we did loads and loads: high tea at the Berkley Hotel, the usual tour of London, a play at the Globe Theatre, caught a night of Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, a day-trip to Oxford, a lot of shopping and eating out. Basically we had a blast.
My old travel buddy Natalie was here in June and we went to the Britney Spears concert together. I don't care what anyone says - she was awesome.
I'm also now working a bit with Shine of Shine Travel and Culture in Beijing - we're old friends from my China days.
I was made redundant at the beginning of July but managed to get a new job really quickly. I'm still doing political work - this time for a membership organisation. It's all very new and exciting.
Trips planned soon: Italy with Danny in November. And until next year I'll be saving like mad - mostly for my visa renewal and then a suprise trip to somewhere old and distant (perhaps Cuba, perhaps Botswana...). Everything goes on hold until I have my passport back and 3 more years on my visa next July.
Now that I've got a lot more leave in my contract good things are suddenly possible.
Oh yeah - we moved recently to the end of Brick Lane. After 10 years we're finally free of the delights of living with strangers. Milestone.
Hope all is well with you all. Kat
